THURSDAY MORNING BLOG POST – Visit ancient Greece in this new M/M book.

A tested love cover

I’ve read a really cool short story Body Language by a new-to-me author, Kayla Jameth (free on Amazon, BTW.) This M/M historical, rich in sensory detail, danger, and adventure, is set in ancient Greece and Turkey. I loved it! When I had the pleasure of meeting Kayla at a writer’s retreat earlier this year, I got to snag a copy of A Spartan Love, which is a prequel to the current release. Enter A Tested Love, an exciting new release by Dreamspinner Press. If you’re up for a riveting, historically accurate read that will keep you at the edge of your seat, you have to give series a try! (Keep in mind that “historically accurate” doesn’t mean “gentle.” Our ancestors lived by harsher rules than we soft e-people.) Watch handsome, complex guys navigate rigid social structure to make their relationships possible. Have a peek into their daily lives and see more than just the occasional sword-fight or an angsty relationship. Kayla is a meticulous, enthusiastic researcher who has the rare talent of making history come alive on the pages of their books. If you invite these guys into your home, they’ll mark your carpet with dusty footprints of ancient roads, drink your wine, eat your bread and cheese and dates, and you’ll have to explain to them about a flush toilet and a light switch. However, your knives – as well as your  mind – will be sharpened when they leave!

A TESTED LOVE

Lured by seductive promises, Andreas risked his life to be with Theron, only to find himself betrayed. Abandoned and alone, Andreas resigns all hope of seeing his fierce warrior again and resumes his life as a helot. All too aware of the harsh punishment Sparta demands of men who love other men, Theron reluctantly surrenders Andreas in hopes of keeping him safe. The warrior returns to Sparta to embrace his destiny in place of the helot he has grown to see as a man, not just a slave. Cold but honorable duty will be his new lover. Duty proves to be a jealous lover when Sparta demands the final test of Theron’s loyalty. Sent to kill Andreas, Theron must find a way to come to terms with his burning desire for his handsome helot before their forbidden love destroys them both.
